What Is Lucid Dreaming?

A lucid dream does not automatically afford control of the dream characteristics, narrative or environment to you, just that you are aware of it. Although you can learn to control your dreams in a short period of time, it is essential that you use these Basic Lucid Dreaming tips to get you underway.

During a lucid dream, the environment and narrative can feel like real life, with touch, sound, smell, sight and taste all feeling as real as ever. In a normal dream, you are a passenger along for the ride, you are in a state of ‘No Self-Awareness’ which is why you feel as though you are watching a fuzzy TV show. In a lucid dream, your conscious brain wakes up during sleep giving you complete self-awareness.
